The short answer: target the right attachment size first

If your email provider rejects a video, do not zip the file and hope for the best. MP4 and MOV videos are already compressed, so a ZIP file usually changes very little. You need to reduce video bitrate, resolution, or duration.

For email, I usually treat 25MB as a practical target, not a promise. A short product demo or phone clip can often get close. A long screen recording should usually be shared by link instead.

Use the compressor page and start with 720p

• Open the video compressor and load the video.
• Choose a smaller output resolution first: 720p is a reasonable starting point for email previews.
• Use a balanced quality setting before trying aggressive compression.
• If the output is still above 25MB, trim the clip or reduce resolution again.

What I check before sending a compressed video

After compression, play the output once before attaching it. Look at text, faces, and fast motion. If small text becomes unreadable, undo one step and reduce duration instead of quality.
